I was very recently diagnosed with MS, my neurologist is having me start Tysarbi later this month. From what I read Tysarbi is for relapsing forms of MS, when I asked my doctor what form I had he said he didn’t know. Why would he have me take medication for a form of MS he doesn’t know I have? All he said was “you’re starting it because you shouldn’t have lesions on your spine yet, but you do” no further explanation.. I feel rather lost. Any answers will be very helpful. Thank you :)
Lesions on your spinal cord are a concern as they indicate the disease is aggressive and Tysarbi is a highly effective therapy. Lesions on the spinal cord can lead to more disability. Better your physician is taking an aggressive approach to get your MS under control early on and it can always be changed once the disease is under control.
Thank you! I did not know that lesions on the spinal cord meant that.
M.S. is the hardest disease to diagnose. At least he's taking action. If your uncertain about the meds, read up on it. Look for the Physicians Deck Reference. And contact the NMSS for information about other DMT's.
I don't know how you are doing physically, but the idea is to keep you on your feet. God Bless Stay Strong

My neurologist is studying spinal cord lesions and told me that my spinal cord lesions are likely what led to my SPMS transition.
