Even now as fall is upon us here in southcentral Alaska, with the rain and cooler temperatures, I'm already starting to feel more painful, and have my balance problems start back up again. In winter I have worsening depression also. With nerve pain combined with inflammation in my upper thighs and worsening numbness in my right leg. I'm having to get my cane back out already.

Members shared their personal experiences with MS symptoms changing in response to temperature, with many noting that both cold and heat can trigger worsening symptoms depending on the person. Several members described increased spasticity, balance problems, fatigue, nerve pain, and difficulty moving in colder months, while others said heat was their biggest challenge, and some found that any temperature extreme or weather change, including humidity and storms, made symptoms worse. A recurring theme was the importance of finding what works for each individual, with members mentioning tools like walkers, cooling vests, baclofen, vitamin D3, and a positive mindset to help get through difficult seasons.

The worst part of MS is the incurable part we only have hope, and
a promise!

I am so sorry for your pain! The Bible teaches us that these aches and pains are not going to last forever, Revelations 21:1-4 is one of my favorites!

I am in NZ, just coming into spring, I take vit d3, high dose. I find good to keep the downs at bay. If you don't get enough sunshine I find it affects pain and mood. J

The MS Focus Foundation has vests as well during a different time of year. You can get a new one every three years. This last time I ordered like a thing that goes around your waist and cools your back. I don't think it looks like what was advertised but it does help.

The heat is bad but the cold for me is worse. Spasticity rules my life in the winter months.
