I am sensitive to very small temperature changes and pain is exacerbated by both heat and cold. So while the summer is tough I also dread winter - face pain is the worst when I feel cold.

I know my body doesnt like the heat. I've done ok during the winters but I also haven't really paid attention. Ill make sure to pay attention to my body this winter to see if I notice any changes weather its good or bad! :)

It's completely understandable to feel anxious about winter coming, especially since many people with MS experience more challenges during cold weather. Cold temperatures can affect MS symptoms in several ways:
• Increased muscle stiffness and spasticity
• More difficulty with balance and walking
• Higher levels of pain
• Increased numbness and tingling sensations
• Greater risk of falls due to balance issues Here are some ways to help manage winter symptoms:
• Bundle up well, paying special attention to keeping fingers and toes warm
• Stay inside when temperatures are particularly cold
• Consider using a SAD light to combat winter blues
• Monitor vitamin D levels, as they tend to drop in winter
• Plan indoor activities during the coldest parts of the day
Remember, you're not alone in this - many MyMSTeam members share similar experiences with cold weather challenges. While you can't change the weather, you can prepare and adapt your daily routine to help manage these seasonal changes.
