Hi, @A MyMSTeam Member! I get this same thing. It sounds just like a
Cricopharyngeal spam. Which is: throat spasticity.
Definitely tell your Neuro! I'm currently on 20 mg of Baclofen 4x p/d. However, I'm tapering off because I had a crazy reaction. Instead of making my spasticity better (which it did for several months), it made it extremely worse. Like, my ENTIRE body was spasming. I couldn't stop shaking. When I would swallow, I thought there was a rock, or a mack truck lodged in my throat; or, I was being strangled. In addition, my eyes were also spastic. The two together were quite painful. After 1-1/2 months of being my own earthquake, most of my spasticity has decreased. The only thing still shaking on a continuous basis, is my right arm/hand. If it has weight in it, it doesn't shake too badly. But, I do have a bit of pain in my elbow, wrist, fingers and knuckles. I am right handed, but the strength in my hand has decreased to 1/3 of the strength in my left. In addition to my now wonky right arm/hand, the full body spasticity left my left leg weak.
I've never had a problem drinking or eating with my spastic throat. Those are the "safe times". Though, I have seen several ppl on here mention they don't have any "safe times" with throat spasticity.
Please be sure to tell your Neuro asap.
You're not alone, Warrior!
Many prayers! 🙏
