I was diagnosed in my early 50s back in 2015. I have a hard time with keeping social engagements with family or girl friends. I get MS fatigue and it controls my afternoons and evenings. I also have bladder difficulty and chronic pain. I do not date or start a romantic relationship Because of my MS.

I met Jacki at a Halloween party in 1992. I was only 23. She was 26 and had already been married/widowed. I didnt propose as I was just happy as a clam. When we first dated, I worked a 2nd job at night/weekends in order to live on my own. In Jun of 1995 (age 26) I began going to school at night in the MBA program at GMU. If I stayed on track (2 classes in the fall, 2 in the spring and 2 over the summer), I was able to get out in May of 1998. Back to Jacki, at the 4 anniversary of our meeting, we attended the same Halloween party and I got accosted by my wife’s boss demanding to know what my intentions are and that if I didn’t plan on getting engaged, she was going to start setting Jacki up . Trust me, I knew Jacki was a catch well over my head but I was just moving along, happy as a clam. I didn’t understand biological clocks and such. That said, on my day off after thanksgiving, I picked out my diamond (just under 1 caret, but very high marks in the grading scale for color/clarity and chose the princess Cut. The ring was ready for pickup on Dec 6 and I proposed that evening. We had a long engagement and when I graduated my program in May of 1998, we got married in June! Been married for 26 years!

Oh yes most definitely. I have been single since 2012 and I have no regrets. It was nothing but stress and I always ended going to the hospital and never got support or help. I was very happy to throw him out, I have been in peace since then.

I was 43 when I met my husband and after an abusive relationship,, another relationship was the farthest thing from my mind. We've been married 24 years and I am blessed to have him.
