if I were you, I would talk to both your PCP and your Neurologist about this.. I had to learn to feed my body for what it needs to help me live well.. you have to learn to ignore what others have in the house.. take the time to cut up some vegetables to much on instead of cookies and other unhealthy snacks.. have heard the Mediterranean diet is good for those with this illness.. and all you have o do is 15 min of exercises.. there are many on the MSFocus sitte..even the MS Society site has them.. be kind to yourself.. stop beating yourself up.. you might even ask for a referral to see a counselor to discuss what you issues are.. all of this has helped me in my 70 years with thisi illness
Ive been thin most of my life from stress. I dont eat if im going through something. I dont even realize how thin I am until someone else says something. That happened a few months ago. A coworker said she has never seen me so thin before and thats what made me realize my weight loss .
When I first was diagnosed I started to lose weight especially with changing my diet. I had gone from about 250 pounds to 180 pounds in a years time. Over these last two years however, I have been gaining weight. I now weigh 205 pounds. Snacks, processed foods and lack of exercise are my weaknesses. It is so freakin hard when I can only do some light cardio on one day and then be barely able to walk for the next 3 days. I do a lot of strength training which I enjoy and I like building muscle but, the sofa is always calling my name lol
Plus, it is also very difficult to remain on a diet when people you live with keep buying cookies and crackers and pizza 🙄
I did keto and it was great. I did not get the results I wanted and gained most of the weight back. I will go back on keto after Thanksgiving as I like the new clothes I purchased.
I was hoping I could walk better but it was for not.
Obviously we can’t be as active as we want to be… due to disability and fatigue. Exercise has perameters as well for us, so keeping the weight low is definitely a challenge.
Ageing doesn’t help either 😄
