Having been an advocate for patients seeking cannabis for many years now, I have seen people from all walks of life. People you would never think would ever use it are medicating and finding relief where they could not find with traditional therapy or pharmaceuticals. I have seen it where patients actually use cannabis to help with side effects from other MS meds.Personally, I did smoke for recreation before my diagnoses, which brings me to an interesting point. Before I knew what was wrong with me, I had always found relief in cannabis, and only after the diagnosis, I realized why. I am one of many millions of people that are realizing the power in this all natural substance. Another great property of cannabis is it's ability to give you an appetite. We all know that diet plays a big role in dealing with MS. Cannabis gives me a proper appetite to consume the proper calories I need. I have personally witnessed a huge jump in medical patients seeking cannabis for MS relief. Most do not know how or where to go about getting cannabis. I find this to be the #1 barrier between patients getting involved with cannabis as medicine. Things are changing though, and people are more and more coming out of the woodwork. Once they decide to try cannabis, its just finding their preferred strain and dose where they are comfortable. This is also where I come in... :)

I thought marijuana was a drug growing up. After my 3rd neurologist recommended trying it(off the record of course - it's still iillegal here), I did. It has done amazing things for me!! It completely takes away the nerve damage pain, including burning. It has helped my spasticity but I also take 10mg Diazepam at bed time & practice yoga. It has helped mystomach so much! Due to nerve damage I have an auto-reject in my stomach & if the food does manage to stay down I get spastic colon. Marijuana has made that a quarter of what it was. Not to mention how calm it has made me. My patience & tolerance level have greatly increased!! I'm a serious pro-MJ advocate!!

@ general comment. I was recently in Colorado and another plus for grass! Two brothers in Colorado Springs have cultivated a new strain and it helps children with seizures. It reduced the amount from over 200 seizures to 1 or 2. Now Colorado is funding research to find out what else medically MJ can be used for, I so glad there is one place that wants to do something to help further the good use of our favorite plant!!

There is a cannabis pill called nabilone that works much the same as eating a weed brownie or cookie.
My doctor prescribed it for me and it is easier than getting your weed card.

The Stanley Bros. I know of them well. They have been hoarding this fantastic strain and not allowing anyone to have it, seeking trademark for monetary reasons. These brothers that supposedly want to help have been putting profits over patients and that is something we frown upon in this field. I am happy to announce tho, someone I will not mention names or seed companies have recently acquired this new strain . this breeder is giving away trays of clones of this strain to needing patients on the condition that the person receiving the tray of clones also gives away a tray of them and this must continue from that person on. The strain is called "Charlotte's Web", names after the little girl who's life it has saved initially. She is down to 3 seizures a year from almost 300 a month because of this fantastic strain.
