Medical marijuana can offer several potential benefits for MS symptoms. Some MyMSTeam members report that cannabis helps with nerve pain, improves sleep quality, and enhances mood. It may also help with muscle contractions, bladder dysfunction, and spasticity.
The indica strain tends to be more calming, while sativa strains can be more stimulating. For sleep issues, indica strains are typically recommended. However, it's important to consider potential side effects. Cannabis, particularly products containing THC, can cause:
- Dizziness and drowsiness (which may worsen balance issues)
- Memory and cognitive processing problems
- Nausea and vomiting
- Headaches
- Impaired judgment
Some MyMSTeam members note they limit cannabis use to evenings or when they don't have tasks to complete, as it can affect productivity. Always consult with your healthcare provider before starting any new treatment, as marijuana can interact with other medications.

I find it helps with spasticity, pain and sleep. The only thing I don't like is if I take to much and I'm all fuzzy in the head. Just be careful with dosing.
