Memory issues with MS often affect short-term memory more than long-term memory, which explains why you may remember past events better than recent ones. The good news is that memory loss isn't necessarily permanent - cognitive skills can be regained with the right approach.

Here are some practical strategies that can help improve your memory:
- Use calendars, alarms, and to-do lists on your phone
- Try learning something new like a language or skill
- Exercise your brain with reading, puzzles, or games
- Practice memory recall exercises with friends or family It's important to discuss these memory changes with your neurologist. They can:
- Conduct tests to establish your current cognitive baseline
- Recommend cognitive rehabilitation programs
- Evaluate if your current MS treatment needs adjustment
- Connect you with specialists who focus on cognitive function

Remember to be patient and kind with yourself as you work on improving your memory function.

I have learned so much from you all. I need to do some research myself. It has been so long since I have remembered certain things. This gives me hope for better.
