Have had several doctors check to see if ear infection or other related to ear like tmj- it’s not.
Sharp stabbing pain or unusual sensations in the ear can be related to MS. Some people with MS experience tinnitus (ringing or other sounds) and nerve-related discomfort in their ears. One MyMSTeam member described experiencing rhythmic tapping sensations, while another reported clicking sounds that come and go.

@A MyMSTeam Member - Same here. I always have constant noise that sounds like a whole choir of cicadas. I get the sharp stabbing pain in both ears when swimming even if I just put my head a few feet or less under water. It's very intense. I've have had several tests. And, doctors can find nothing. So, no more diving. The pain is unbearable sharp stabbing both ears.
