I have started trying to take care of my nails just as a means for self care and to do something when ms flares strike. However, started noticing that my nails seem very weak. Not sure if it is related to ms or not, but I feel like they break so easily, aren’t as strong and healthy as they once were. Any help would be appreciated💜

@A MyMSTeam Member thank you for this! I am going to be adding this to my cart now 💜 hoping the mix of this and trying out biotin helps my nails 💅🏼

I think my weak nails came from years of doing housekeeping work at a motel, a nursing home and a guest ranch.. I think biotin helps with nails and hair, I have just never taken it.

While nail changes aren't widely recognized as a direct MS symptom, many MyMSTeam members have reported experiencing similar nail issues. Some members have noticed grooves, ridges, and brittle nails after their MS diagnosis. Though there's no confirmed direct link between MS and most nail issues, people with MS may be more susceptible to certain nail changes. Here are some tips for maintaining nail health:

• Consider regular visits to a nail care professional if MS symptoms make self-care difficult
• Keep nails trimmed and filed to prevent catching and breaking
• Consult with your healthcare provider about any significant nail changes
• Watch for signs of fungal infection, which can be more common in people with MS
• Consider using protective nail products recommended by your healthcare provider

Remember to discuss any new nail care routines or concerns with your healthcare team to ensure they're appropriate for your situation.
