New Brockton, AL

By 1pm in the afternoon I have really bad MS fatigue. I also have quite a bit of pain, and am unable to go to church quite often. I dont drive anymore because of a loss of peripheral vision. I dont usually let what others think, but sometimes I feel so misunderstood. It's hard to make new friends, and so I stay to myself. My MSer friends are so valuable to me because you all usually understand. I like to be alone. But its hard to plan holidays or outings, because of my MS.

Members deeply connected over the question of feeling alone and misunderstood due to MS limitations, with an overwhelming number sharing that fatigue, pain, and lost independence have made it nearly impossible to maintain friendships or attend family events. Several members described the exhausting cycle of having to repeatedly explain their limits, only to feel dismissed, while others found comfort in small circles of trusted people, faith, pets, and online MS communities that truly understand. A recurring theme was that this group itself serves as a lifeline, offering the empathy and acceptance that many members rarely find elsewhere in their lives.

I can’t read books anymore, so I’ve gone to books on tape and audible. Works well and I’m very grateful for modern technology.

I third that, Brenda and Laurie-it took me into my 30s to finally find some people whom I call truly call a friend. Now that I reached out onto here, I have at least 5 more and you two are 2 of them!

There's a lot of lonely MS afflicted people, Cynthia-my neighbor doesn't go out anymore. Make friends on here but be wary of some persons b/c there's some fakes out there. Know what you want and need, then try to find some people out there.
