I have been drinking water, at least 8 oz every morning when I wake up. Since I've been doing this, I haven't felt like I needed to sleep during the day, thank God!

Excessive fatigue and sleepiness during the day is very common with MS. As one MyMSTeam member describes it, MS fatigue feels like wearing "a heavy comforter made of tired." It's not like normal tiredness from lack of sleep - it's an all-encompassing exhaustion that can hit suddenly and make even simple tasks feel overwhelming.
This type of fatigue can strike at any time, even during routine activities like grocery shopping. Many people with MS find they need to carefully plan their activities and build in rest periods throughout the day. Here are some tips that may help manage daytime fatigue:
• Stay cool - heat can worsen MS symptoms and fatigue
• Get some light cardio exercise in the morning when energy levels are higher
• Stay hydrated throughout the day
• Don't try to push through the fatigue - take breaks when needed
• Ask for help with tiring tasks rather than doing them alone
• Work with your healthcare provider to develop a management plan
Remember to give yourself grace on difficult days. Even small accomplishments count as wins when dealing with MS fatigue.
