This higher infection risk occurs because ocrelizumab is a high-efficacy disease-modifying therapy that works by suppressing parts of the immune system to reduce MS relapses and slow disease progression. Many people also experience what's known as the "crap gap" - a period when the medication starts wearing off before the next infusion. During this time, you might notice:
• Increased fatigue
• Brain fog or cognitive difficulties
• Balance problems
• Burning or tingling sensations
• General worsening of MS symptoms
These symptoms typically improve after receiving the next scheduled dose.
