I loss my sense of taste for about a week. I called one of my favorite açaí stops and asked them if they changed the brand of their frozen Açaí and they said no. Part of me didn’t believe it. I would go about twice a week and it was the same. Finically my taste buds resumed thankfully. I am way under weight and such a picky eater, so I was happy it returned back. I hope the same for you.
I was wondering about this. I think I noticed it during Thanksgiving while I was making dressing. It tasted off to me but everyone else said it was good. I keep a 'ick" taste in my mouth now so have to brush and floss often. My teeth and gums also hurt more, even when pressing my tongue against teeth.
I know this is going to sound weird and without going into a lot of detail have your GP check your sex hormones and do a zinc serum test they can both affect taste if they are low.
Crystal, I understand this experience. Since I've been diagnosed with Ms, nothing has tasted right. Soo I just stick to items I like. Fast foods don't taste right. Nothing does. It just sucks. I eat once a day. I have to, I'm diabetic. And I don't smell things anymore. So food has no interest for me.
Crystal, I fall into this category with you. I need to address this with my neuro in late January.
I typically eat twice daily forfeiting Lunch. Dinner type foods taste really off.
I did have Covid last year but cannot say if that is the culprit.
I eat breakfast just fine but have had this *phenomena creeping into that as well to an extent.
MS is a strange, multi faceted disease.
