This country has turned upside down! So many people struggling to get by. Utilities, food, insurance, cell phones. The simple things are becoming unaffordable. Everytime I go to town it's near 100 bucks! It's crazy because incomes don't budge

It took my 3 denials when I was trying to get SSDI. After that last denial I requested to have a hearing, which is our right. I reached out to a law firm that specialized in these type of actions. They reviewed all of the documentation I had kept dating from diagnosis and current disability impacting my ability to work. The firm took my case. I did not have to provide any money upfront but did sign an agreement that the firm would receive 30% of the settlement. We went before an administrative Judge who reviewed the case. He asked me several guest question about my previous employment. I only had one employer for 20 years. We all was said and done the judge made a bench decision in my favor. He said that the settlement would go back to 2012 when I was first symptomatic. At the end of the day I was awarded $86,000 of back payment and my monthly SSDI of $2870.00 monthly to include Medicare as well. The legal fees were taken from the lump sum payment. I got the rest of the lump sum but I made a mistake and did not request that federal taxes be withheld as well. When I did my taxes that year I actually owed because I did not have taxes withheld. If anyone else ever gets that far with this time consuming lengthy process just remember Uncle Sam wants his cut too.

@A MyMSTeam Member That's the worst part, it's business! We're not people we're numbers on a spread sheet.

@A MyMSTeam Member The amount the insurance charges vs. what I pay to stock the pharmacy is astounding. Similar to...IV bag costs a $1-2 but the Ins. charges $700. I agree it's getting expensive to just 'breathe' for the month.

Yes depends on where you live. In Canada, I get a disability pension for almost 2K a month, both through the federal and provincial governments. I’m on Ocrevus, which is paid for by the provincial government. I’m in the province of Alberta. I hear horrible stories about what’s happening in the USA and the lack of social supports I feel your pain. You shouldn’t have to live like this . Maybe you need a different president?

All my best, and I’m encouraging you to be your own advocate while you seek assistance? 🙏🥰
