I can still reach for my toes...complete straight legs. I can kiss my knees and lay my palms straight down to the floor. I guess all my years as a gymnast paid off. My walking isn'y visibly "wonky" but I sure feel it. My legs are weak. And just really rigid at times. It's not that I can't bend them just a little bit harder. What is that called? I need to convey that to my doctor but my words escape me...

Members quickly identified the sensation of rigid, weak legs described in the post as spasticity, a common MS symptom, and offered reassurance that doctors will understand even if the exact word escapes you. Several members shared medications that have helped manage spasticity, including baclofen, tizanidine, and Lyrica, while others recommended stretching, physical therapy, warm water pools, and walking aids like canes or walkers. A recurring theme was community solidarity around the daily challenges of spasticity, with many noting that while they may appear fine to others, the internal struggle is very real.

How's it going Shannon... yep I would say Spascity is the answer. I think you know what to do with all your training but stretching is real important right?

Hi Shannon, do you have access to a warm 87 degree swimming pool? A number of YMCA ‘s have indoor pools that is great for therapy. I swim laps while Kara does upper body water aerobics, along with using a float belt she can walk somewhat on the pool bottom.

You can still touch your toes, kiss your knees and lay your hands flat on the floor? Such a show-off 😄
