Members facing the fear of MS progression shared how they stay grounded, with the most common theme being a focus on living one day at a time rather than worrying about what lies ahead. Several members shared personal strategies like limiting 'worry time' to 20 or 30 minutes, channeling anger into motivation, celebrating small wins, and finding humor even in hard moments. Faith, family, staying active within personal limits, and the support of this community were the most repeated anchors that help members keep moving forward.

I can't tell you how long it will be until you are in a chair, maybe never, let's hope. They always say MS is different for everybody. Maybe you're done progressing, keep the faith.😊

I actually struggle with this. I got really down a few weeks ago and my husband asked me what was wrong and I replied, “I hate to sound like April (from Parks & Recreation) but I know the reality of my disease and I kind of know that my MS is just going to progress so every so often, I get this impending doom feeling. I guess you caught me in ‘my ‘so often’ part of my day.” But sometimes I can pull myself out by thinking of the small wins that are happening right now …. Like, even though I complain about going to work and how some days it’s difficult because of brain fog or fatigue or numbness, I’m thankful that I can still get up and go to work … or that I can still go for a walk without assistance. Got to celebrate every win ❤️
