What vitamins or supplements or whatever helps you guys with this? I wish I could text all my conversations because I have time to think about an appropriate response and when I forget what they said, I can look back at the convo and take it from there. I'm just wondering what I'm doing or not doing to help myself.

@Pix420 as to supplements it's best to research through Google based on a collective data of your age, height, weight and current medications would be best for you to try. I myself have taken a mushroom supplement along with my taste natural powers of fresh cloves of garlic, spinach, lean proteins...in a treat to haves the red meats go to fish with a good amount of Amino Acids. I know of friends of mine with other various underlining conditions who favor in good results with Mushroom coffees, Elder Berry roots, Ginger, lemon grass ect... the list goes on and on
Especially with so many proclaiming their products to be the game changer. I say as long as it is right for Your Body. The little micro magnifying glass print not set as should BE in BOLD is Results MAY VARY consult your doctor before trying any supplement. Many people do NOT know supplements are just as serious as taken a prescription. Just my take with it opinion

What vitamins or supplements can help with memory and cognitive issues in secondary progressive MS?

First, it's important to know that there's currently no proven supplement that's been shown to improve cognition in MS. That said, before trying any vitamins or supplements, you should talk with your doctor because some can actually worsen MS symptoms.

Some supplements to be cautious about include:
- Selenium, copper, and manganese (may worsen autoimmune attacks)
- Large doses of vitamin E and C (can thin your blood and lead to complications)
- Single supplements with high doses (potentially more dangerous)

Your doctor can help determine if your memory concerns are MS-related or connected to other factors like medication side effects, fatigue, anxiety, or depression. Beyond supplements, there are practical strategies that many MyMSTeam members find helpful for managing memory issues:

- Use smartphone reminders and alarms for tasks, appointments, and medications
- Write things down - putting pen to paper helps your brain remember better
- Keep a notebook or use Post-it notes everywhere
- Try voice assistants like Alexa or Siri to set reminders
- Use password management apps or keep login lists in a secure place
- Take photos (like of your parking spot) to help remember locations
- Focus on one task at a time to avoid distractions
- Keep important items like medications in the same place always

Getting proper sleep (8 hours), staying on a disease-modifying treatment, and exercising your brain with puzzles or reading can also help maintain cognitive function.

Your idea about texting conversations is actually smart - it gives you time to process and a record to look back on. Consider discussing cognitive rehabilitation with your neurologist, as they may recommend testing and strategies specifically for your situation.
