So my ? To all my MS warriors who have been on before is it still worth me going on? (flare up been almost a week) while still feeling crappy .. mainly major MS hug,(also have costeochronditis) shortness breath, headache, also increase pain and dizziness weakness and extreme fatigue when do anything... will the steroids help with this? Do you think rewards still out weigh risks/side effects? Thanks so much 🥰
Yes it's worth it. Hang in there. I got this wonderful disease when I was 26 and now I will be 75 in August! Up and down like a yo yo! One doesn't get a refund on your life. Think positive
Hello @A MyMSTeam Member. Methylprednisolone is generally given in a fairly short course, perhaps 10 to 14 days. It's a steroid and steroids can have side effects but they're also good at suppressing symptoms of an MS flare-up. And those side effects will then go away.
I have no idea what that is have to ask a doctor.
Is high-dose methylprednisolone still effective for treating MS flare-up symptoms after a week?
Yes, steroids can still help even though your flare-up has been going on for almost a week. Studies show it's best to start steroid treatment within a week of symptom onset, so you're still within that window.
