Diagnosed in 2001, been on Kesimpta for the last 5 years and before that Ocrevus. Been stuck on Gabapentin for the last 25 years and Baclofen. I left my neurologist over the Gabapentin, who I had for 25 years.
I was diagnosed with MS back in 2001 and I’ve also been on gabapentin and I’ve never had a problem with it. Besides once I ran out of it and started having bad problems. Like I felt like a drug addict that was missing their drugs and if I would have not gotten another pill, I don’t know what would’ve happened, so I will never be without it again. That was very scary and I hated the way I felt! I take 800mg three times a day and I only missed two pills. Awful!!
I’m never in pain so I’m guessing it’s from Gabapentin. I’ve never had what’s called an MS hug, my biggest problem is my walking sucks. I have no balance, but that’s pretty much the only problem I have besides not being able to eat because I’m never hungry. If my legs ever are seriously bothering me if I smoke marijuana, it goes away. I do MRIs every six months and my doctor said the last few I have had no new lesions. I’m going to be going and getting a boot because I have dropfoot in my left foot so hopefully hopefully that helps and then I walk a little better.
Sure, I’d love more info about it! Thanks
I've never taken Gabapentin but my husband does. His doctor prescribed it to him when it was decided that Celebrex caused too many problems. He takes two 100mg pills every night and has had no problems.
Who else has experienced being on gabapentin long-term despite concerns about side effects?
