I have been strength training since my DEXA 1 1/2 years ago revealed my osteoporosis. My lastest DEXA scan showed worsening T-scores and now my PCP wants to put me on a drug treatment.
Magnesium. Vitamin K. VITAMIN D Calcium. Adequate dietary protein. Not a vegetarian diet. Strength training like you said My friend has osteoporosis. She did take the drug treatment past year. She's not ms but petite.
There are quite a few options. Your doctor can probably let you know which medication will work best for you
I take Alendronate Sodium once a week. My osteoporosis improved to osteopenia, I'm not sure how to spell it.
It's really encouraging that you've been committed to strength training — that dedication matters! Unfortunately, for some people with MS, exercise alone isn't always enough to stop bone loss, especially when MS-related inflammation, reduced mobility, or medications are also affecting bone density.
