Wishing was more than 1 DMT for Ppms. Odds on it working aren’t high either. Heard there might be something else coming out this year or next. But at an older age seems not hopeful for any help

I don't take a DMT. I took one for about 2 years but stopped about 3 years ago

Are you currently not taking a disease-modifying therapy (DMT) for your MS?

That's a valid choice some people make, and there are different reasons why someone might not be on a DMT — whether it's side effect concerns, personal preference, or a doctor's recommendation based on mild disease activity.

Are you currently not taking a disease-modifying therapy (DMT) for your MS?

That's a valid choice some people make, and there are different reasons why someone might not be on a DMT — whether it's side effect concerns, personal preference, or a doctor's recommendation based on mild disease activity.

It's worth knowing that research increasingly supports early DMT use as the best way to slow MS progression and reduce relapses. However, no current medication fully stops the disease. If you're considering your options, here are a few things to keep in mind:

- There are over 20 FDA-approved DMTs, taken as pills, injections, or infusions
- Some are considered "highly effective" and may work better but carry more risk
- Lifestyle changes like reducing stress and adjusting diet may also help manage relapses

A neurologist is the best person to help weigh the risks and benefits based on your specific situation. An open conversation about your goals and concerns can go a long way in finding the right path forward.
