I believe in the Great Creator so anything is possible. I just saw the Grand Canyon yesterday for the first time and was in awe.
I think we have choices. I can make my life (even with MS) hell or heaven. An attitude of gratitude changes my reality. So for today, I choose serenity, acceptance, and self-love over fear.
Hi Tiffany. I’ve heard of something similar known in Buddhism where we choose our journey on Earth to develop specific strengths of maturation of our souls to arahant enlightenment when all defilement will not be reborn because they will be eliminated. There was a time when I seriously wondered why me and this part of Buddhism is true in my existence there really had to be an easier way! Multiple Sclerosis, like so many diseases impacts so many of the dimensions of life it’s a bit like playing Wijk Aan Zee, 1999 chess every moment of every day when not staring into a fire trying not to think, feel, or experience anything. The challenge is there. And many days are not that complicated. But good grief, there are days when it’s overwhelming! I am a Christian. The Holy Spirit has taken me through this world never abandoning me. Physicians (neurologists, ophthalmologists, psychiatrists, and incredible specialists therapists) have made the effort to accomplish the dreams I have had all my life. Buddhism has many admirable people!! Their wisdom has touched mine. I just don’t believe I would choose MS! There just has to be an easier way! Ha!
Hmmm interesting question. I don't believe we choose this MS life as you say. If inherited, understandable but any other issue no. Anyone can have stress; any one could have done things in their life to prevent certain circumstances. Example: smoking cigarettes and get lung cancer. Nope not really the case but can happen. Mostly 10% to 20% with non smokers can happen more. Just saying, shit happens and will not know the actual cause but will know the factors in our body that contributes & we have to keep on living.
Well, I certainly didn’t choose MS and the other stuff that I struggle with.
