Just FYI
"Silent seizures (also called subclinical or electrographic seizures) are abnormal bursts of electrical activity in the brain that are detectable on EEG but produce no obvious outward clinical signs or symptoms, such as convulsions, staring spells, or altered awareness that others (or the person) would notice.
In multiple sclerosis (MS), true epileptic seizures are uncommon but occur more often than in the general population—typically estimated at about 2–5% of people with MS versus roughly 1–3% overall. They are linked to cortical or juxtacortical lesions, inflammation, demyelination-related hyperexcitability, and greater overall disease burden (higher disability, progressive forms, longer duration, more brain atrophy). Focal seizures are the most frequent type. "
@A MyMSTeam Member thanks for the information, I love when everyone shares their experiences with multiple sclerosis because it let's me know what to look out for and they usually discuss how to deal with it. Can't get that anywhere. I know a lot of doctors have no clue.
Oh wow, Val! I've heard of many medical phenomena but not this! I'm not sure that i might have it though-I do daydream, did it a lot in my teens and 20s. There's nothing wrong with daydreaming (brain needs a break from the hustle and bustle of life anyway) but when it starts interfering with work, school, etc., it might be what you've experiencing and needs to be assessed.
Its not painful its irritating while it lasts.
Hey have any of you had issues taking breaths like as you try to take a breath it feels like your getting stabbed and cant take a full breath.
