Hey everyone,

So ive started to lose my balance lately (which is new for me), I also fell out of bed 3 days ago for the first time. I feel like im wobbling, tripping up and also banging into things. This has come on quite suddenly. Has anyone else had this happen over night?

Members responded with warmth and solidarity to a question about sudden balance loss and wobbling with MS, with many sharing that they experienced the very same thing, often overnight and without warning. Several members recommended contacting an MS nurse or neurologist right away, getting an MRI to check for new lesions or a flare, and working with a physical therapist who specializes in MS or balance issues. A recurring theme was that movement and exercise matter, with members pointing to balance exercises on YouTube, core strengthening, and medications like Ampyra as tools that helped them regain some stability.

I randomly lose my balance sometimes. If it is new for you discuss it with your doctor.

@A MyMSTeam Member...

A guy with MS walked into a bar
And a table, and a chair, and the wall.

I think it's acceptable for us to tell jokes like that to each other because we're all in the same situation but obviously it's not okay for other people to tell that joke. 😂

Yes, do some therapy work and hopefully you can get muscle memory back and get better soon

It gives ampyra to improve the balance prescribed by the neurologist and ask your physical therapist what you can do everyday about it
