I'd been with a life insurance company for many years, but they folded and canceled all policies about two years before my MS diagnosis. I would like to get another policy in case something happens to the one I currently have now. I was wondering if anyone has experienced any issues with getting approval for a life insurance policy? Try Aflac if you are able. Only people that would let me!! And this was BEFORE my actual dx. Other places wouldn't because I had to write optical nueritis AND suddenly they wanted blood work and physicals. Since I did not have to write MS, with no DX, I was able to get one through Aflac.
I also have one from my employer that was given to me before my dx.
I would like to voice my opinion on this...first of all, is this not discriminatory? MS, especially RRMS like I have, does NOT kill you. Life insurance only pays if you die, not if you are blind and in hospital or in a wheelchair or whatever other ailment we might have. This subject always really angers me. GRRR.
I'll do some digging to see who mine is with, but I'm totally feeling you on this one. State Farm laughed me out of the building.
I can only get 10,000 in life insurance and that's through my hubby's work. No other insurance company will even talk to me, so i know what your talking about.
FIDELITY LIFE!!!
