Has anybody had problems with your teeth breaking? My front teeth keep breaking & my right one has less than 1/8 of the tooth. The other one is gone. My bottom 5 teeth are cracked& turned black on top. My molars all cracked & broken or gone. I have never taken or done drugs of any kind except presciped by the doctor. Does anyone else have this problem?
I had beautiful teeth before the m.s. and now it sounds like I'm having the same issues with my teeth that you are. I read on my copaxone that it causes tooth decay and they were not joking, I'm going to have all mine pulled and get dentures.
I have always had problems with my teeth (and not a lot of money to do anything but have a tooth pulled at the time) but it seems that once I was diagnosed with MS my teeth went downhill from there. At the time I made the decision to have my upper teeth pulled (denture cost versus the cost of repairing teeth) bad mistake. I now have complicated migraines and have added more aggravation that I really did not need and the question....is it? MS, Migraine (and more medicine), or Denture problem...reminder to all of us with MS....the nerves in your face and a long your jaws and sinus' will impact you when teeth are pulled. I wish I would have thought to look this up first. I hope this helps someone think things through first. Maybe talk to your neurologist and dentist when making a decision.
I've put myself on daily Calcium supplement, and in a few months my teeth stopped crushing one after another. Now, of course, I have to have dental works done (extractions, fillings, inlays, and so on). It's going to be a very expensive and long process: my Medicare Advantage plan covers only $1000 per year. I told my dentist that I'm not trying to get a Hollywood smile - just make my mouth functional again. Will see...
Wow. I only had one cavity until 37 yrs old. Now after 3 years diagnosed with MS. I have had 4 broken teeth and 5 cavities. It never occurred to me that it could be MS related. Reading all your stories helped. Thanks! ❤
