Been taking Tecfidera for 3 days now. So far I've noticed some headaches, a little nausea and some wooziness. I think the side effects fad after first few weeks. But those I've mentioned are mild - nothing like the interferons.

I've been sharing this with people starting Tecfidera -- just in case. Hopefully it is absolutely unnecessary... I am on my second batch of Tecfidera. With the Tecfidera I have mainly had some GI discomfort, and cannot be sure that is/was due to the Tecfidera. But, when it came time to request the second batch, my insurance was strange and I did not expect that at all. When I called for a refill(as instructed, when I had a week left of the original prescription), they said this would need a new prescription and had to be reevaluated because subsequent prescriptions are all for full-dose pills! (First filling of prescription had the first week at 1/2 dose.) I did not expect this--looked like the original prescription included a year of refills. My doctors were suprised too, but were really good about this. All the same, I still had a 5-day gap between finishing the first prescription and receiving the next one. When I started the refill prescription, it felt like the side-effects that may have been subsiding flared up again. Did not enjoy that. Insurance companies! Anyway, you may want to check about your second filling of this prescription early. With best wishes, BooBeagle
