I've been on Rebif for about 5 years and it is no longer working for me. I've tried Copaxone and that did not work for me either. My Dr wants me to try one of the oral meds but I'm really nervous about the side effects. I'm going to be making the switch in about 3 weeks. Any advice or experiences shared will be helpful. Thanks:)

Techfludera is very tolerable. It's a twice daily pill that will make feels flushed about half an hour after you take it with food. The flushing passes in a couple of hours. No pain. It gave me diahhrea the first week or so. After the first month you were won't even notice.

I was on Avonex injections and it did not work for me.
Now I'm on the oral pill Aubagio. It's working for me so far.
With Aubagio you get blood tests done the 1st 6 months .
Also you will need a TB test done.
No flu shots with Aubagio.
I have not have any side effects from Aubagio

I am starting Gilenia (oral med) next week. I was on Rebif for 1.5 years and it did nothing but make me suffer. Anyways, even though it looks like I have quickly grown into secondary progressive, in which case even Gilenia will not work, my medical team and I have decided to go for it and hope for the best. It is stronger and more aggressive treatment, for sure, but what other choice do I have? I decided to try, but one of the biggest reasons for my decision was that for the next 5 years I will be closely monitored by the clinic so we can stop the treatment if it is not or stops working. In all this mess, I am blessed with the support that my clinic is ready to offer. The only think I can suggest is to try and get your clinic to provide you with the better support: more frequent MRIs and visits with your neurologist. That way you will know sooner rather then later if this treatment is working for you and if not they can take you off it and maybe try something else rather then further risk your heath. I hope this helps.

I was on Rebif before and am now on Gilenya. The only time it was a problem for me was the first dose that I had in the docs office... after that, everything was fine and is fine.

I also use Tecfidera and I have no side effects at all. Everyone is different. The flushing is one common side effect the other is stomach trouble. For flushing you take aspirin or ibuprofen, for stomach trouble eat food before taking, something with protein is best. Most people if they have issues they do go away with in a few months to a year.
