I have been having pain in my back went to the er and was told it was just a muscle spasm but it is now going down through my left leg and when i stand for a long peirod of time it feels like my leg wants to give out on me I don't know if its from my back problems i have always had since i was small a back spasm like the dr at the er has said or from my ms and it dont seem to want to go away i don't know what to do help me please

@A MyMSTeam Member Yoga, exercise, deep breathing, and some prescriptions all help with spasticity.

oh yes definitely MS. I have the same problems .i try and do yoga poses. The deep breathing helps

@A MyMSTeam Member It could be MS related. Talk with a neurologist about a possible prescription relief. There are standard prescriptions that can help with spasticity, very often present in MS.

I have the same problem. Put me in the ER a few times. They told me spasms too but they said it could be from MS or not. Spasms are a big part of MS. Physical therapy on my neck and back have helped me a great deal. I started very slow and worked my up and continue to keep it up(easier said than done:). Good luck to you. I wish I had good advice to help you in the short run.

MS...I vote for MS...get muscle relaxants to help them go away. So sorry
