They happen when the body isn't able to repair nerve cells in the brain causing permanent damage. Also known as T1 lesions.

Black hole are damaged areas. I have some that left small holes that showed up on thin slices in one MRI set. Part of a lesion dies, and the lesion collapse into it's self and leaves a black hole. (looking gray sometimes) and this shows up on MRI's.

I'm going to LongIslandNY too. Not sure when. We are expecting a snow storm tomorrow. We had planned to travel tomorrow.

I'm 42. I was dx in 2004 but I have had symptoms for 20 years.
