I was on tecfidera for maybe 4 weeks and noticed some hair loss - in shower and brush. Within 6 weeks handfuls of hair was coming out. Stopped tecfidera and it took at least 2 months before hair loss subsided and now my hair is regrowing. My neuro and the company both say that hair loss not a side effect. Has anyone else experienced hair loss while on tecfidera?
Yes, I have had hair loss and I Tecfidera. My neuro said if my white blood count goes down again I will have to get off Tecfidera.
Yes. Hair loss is definitely related to Tecfidera. I was told by my friend and coworker that I was loosing more than average hair loss. I also noticed how thin it had become. After stopping TecFidera due to a severe allergic reaction (after taking it 6 months) my hair is finally is re-growing.
I had hair loss when starting tecfidera. It did subside a couple of months into treatment.
Interesting - - I've noticed that I am regularly losing hair while on tecfidera and twice I've had to stop taking it for 2 weeks (prior to surgery) and the hair loss has lessened!
