I think I am looking at getting a power wheel chair soon Any suggestions about type and what to look for will be appreciated.

The first thing to consider is where you live. I personally use a scooter, but I ran into more walls in my home. A power wheelchair is far easier to use in smaller areas while the scooter means negotiating turns carefully. If there is any way for you to "test ride" one, then you can tell which one you are more comfortable with.

Congrats, the VA got my son one and it was very valuable!!! He would not have made it as long as he did without his independence, I just hope I do not get to where I need one anytime soon.

Go tool with a wheelchair clinic. They will measure you for the chair, and tell you what else to buy.

So far I do not require a chair yet, and I thank God for that every morning, but having PPMS I have done a lot of research in preparation and if I needed one today this is the one that I would purchase. I am still able to walk very poorly, but for very short distances only.
