I have always had almost perfect eye sight (20/15). Because my eyes have trouble focusing when on the meds, I use basically a reader strength some of the time when doing things close. Recently had my 6 mo exam for Macular Edema and it was fine. Within the past few weeks though, I have started having a pretty serious double vision, worse than normal, meds or not, glasses or not. Then started seeing these small dots like a piece of fuzz floating. I actually tried to swat it away but of course… read more
Go and see a Neuro-Opthalmologist. They are the most familiar with eye problems, for people with MS.
I have optic neuritis in both eyes. I opted on aubagio instead of Gilenya because of eye concerns. My eyesight is getting worse but it also seems to get really bad when tired or stressed. I have blurred, double vision and spots. So far they just monitor it and I have taken a few rounds of steroids which didn't really help. So plz post what you find out or anything they suggest. I am seeing a new neurologist in April. I hope he can help. Of course I do the optimap every year at the eye Dr just to track it. Prayers that they find answers to restore out vision. Like you I had perfect vision until MS.
@A MyMSTeam Member, I have those floaters in my right eye and have just learned to live with them: as for your eyesight, possibly a eye doctor( there is different levels , some are specialist) can actually prescribe a treatment or a med thatmight help you. I went from20/20 overnight to I can't see clearly 3 feet away, I did go blind in my right eye , but after seeing the different doctors, they told me to take large dose's of vitaminB1/B6 and after a couple month I regained sight in both eye's but would never be the same, looking at my screen, 1 foot in front of me without my glasses is a white blur!
I have floaters as well. swat at a gnat that isn't there. Doc told me to stay hydrated. Agree w/ Rhonda, not related to optic neuritis
Go to a professional opthamologist who knows about MS and have your eyes checked. Please don't put it off.
