I've had trouble for a while swallowing I've had trouble for a while swallowing and I get choked easy. now I'm starting to get hoarse more and I feel like there's pressure in my throat alot. anyonen else get this?
I went to my ENT Today and he thinks it probably is the MS. I had fusion surgery last year but he said everything looked good from that so he wants to send me to a speech therapist for right now. I did a barium swallow test at the first of the year and had some issues . He said there's another test he may do after I finish with the speech therapist so it's just wait and see now. Thanks everyone for all the help :-)
I am actually experiencing this right now. It feels like there is a balloon in my throat/nasal cavity. It feels like I can't breath sometimes, but if I'm talking, I'm breathing! It is an odd sensation that is very hard to describe to someone else. I do have trouble swallowing sometimes and I used to panic. Now, I just get a grip, breath through my nose and it helps me relax enough to finish the swallowing process. Sometimes with a sip of something to help. I will be talking with the doc about it next month.
I have a lot of reflux and it sometimes feel like the food gets stuck half way down. Eventually I'll have to have my esophagus stretched. If that's what is happening it's a pretty common precedure.
I choke all the time. Feels like someone is clutching my throat in their hands. Comes on out of the blew. I hate it because we can be eating at a restaurant and I just start choking. So embarrassing.
This is one of the first thing that told me something was wrong in the last 4-5 years. It's common, from what my neurologist told me and if it gets too much, he can send me to see a specialist; my family doctor also told me the same thing - but then she's been reading up a whole lot on MS for the past little while. It seems that there is an incredible increase of MS patients in the Outaouais region (Qc, Canada) in a very short period of time. Maybe it's because of more effective tests but hey, that's just my little humble opinion :) (Took me 30 years to find out what ailment was pinning me down so very often).
