Who here has a service dog to help with their MS? I've been reading up on it and I see they can be very helpful. It's on the long long list of things my husband and I want to look into to give me any type of independence.

I am on my second service dog, my first one died in May 2016. Mine is a 2 yr old, I got her at 6 weeks old and was training her while my other dog we alive. My girl walks with or without her lease. She does not jump, she is hand, voice and whistle trained. When I fell she stayed with me until my son came she laid with her head on me and her paws were on my arms. You have to make sure when you take them with you they obey and do not growl at people and are under control at all times. You can train them to get things for you just alot of patience. It makes my life easier when I go for walks she goes with me and she is good and love my independence.
I think dogs can be such wonderful and loving companions, if you like/love dogs I'd sure one will help. All the best with this

I also have a therapy dog but it isn't actually just for me. I also trained and registered him myself before I got so sick. He's a national therapy dog and registered with inter mountain therapy animals. I used to have him go on community service visits and volunteer to help others and visit them in the nursing homes hospital etc...
i am so sorry about not answering your question was focing on the rrms. i have emotional support dog but if anyone has mental health problems i did not get past the front desk with that then had to get him registered as service dog stupid i know i didn't get to see my dr that day. please let me know what you have found out about the service dog for ms where do i go for information
