To use one of their scooters at my local shopping center, they said I will have to bring an up to date eye test and wont accept the one I had done last year ?
And they said I have to do a test ? Anyone able to enlighten me re this please ? Do they mean a written test or a driving test ?
Sorry didnt think of one of these like a car - what about insurance ?
Shop Mobility? Do you mean borrowing a motorised scooter to shop at somewhere like Bluewater in Kent or Lakeside in Essex? My daughter just phoned up Shop Mobility at the shopping centre to reserve a scooter, drove my there and we collected the scooter to go shopping. No eye test. No driving licence.
@A MyMSTeam Member Please remember that it's not just people with MS that use a scooter. There are many people with different disabilities that would. Please calm yourself a little and think of who else would be affected. Yes, it's discrimination and should be brought to the attention of the owners of the shopping mall so maybe a change can be made.
