I have my 1st MS clinic appointment 7th November, I have rrms and get pains in back , ribs and legs . Should I see Dr to get some painkillers or will they not help anyway
I vote something to stop the pain ... from your doctor/pain specialist. You have no idea how much pain effects your life until it STOPS! Please tell your doctor you are in pain & what is causing it. I have heard people say pot helps with some types of MS pain so I would consider medical marijuana to.
Yes narcotics are strong, addictive & highly regulated. However they saved my life. I was going to kill myself to stop the pain & gabapentin wasn't cutting it! Something about feeling like every inch of my skin was on fire for seven freakin years makes me a very strong supporter of narcotic pain killers if you need it (I have numbed up since then and now it burns but isn't agonizing ... unless I shower, walk, do something or live life ;) )
I would not do anything until you go to the doctor. In my opinion, I wait as long as I can for pain meds. I see what else is available, like muscle relaxers may do the trick. On the other hand, you are a 10 out of 10 do something. Good luck, feel better.
I, 2nd using Marijuana for Pain and You do not have to smoke this. You can eat it as Edibles. I use My Marijuana with a handful of Walnuts. Marijuana is not dangerous on Your Liver.
I agree with JoeBass. Wait till your appt with the MS clinic. If the pain gets worse call them and tell them you need to be seen sooner bc you have that pain. They may prescribe muscle relaxers instead of pain meds, because they understand our ailments better than a regular doctor.
