I use an auto inject pen and when i did my injection last night i experienced a stinging as if the alcohol was not dry. Well, i had stinging thru the night, off & on, and still periodic throughout the day. I did the injection on my upper, outer thigh (i have been injecting with the auto inject for 5+ years and never experienced this before.). Anyone have any thoughts as to why? It is a large area that stings.
I had stinging when I tried the pen so I went back to pre-filled syringes. I also take my shot out mid day and let it get to room temp.

Just wanted to update-I did another injection tonight with no stinging.....the consesus is that i probably hit a bone as it feels like a deep bruise now. I was told the boggest concern would have been the needle breaking off but its been checked and all there! *also, i have always taken my shot out about 2-3 hours before i inject so it wasnt a “cold” shot!
I've had that stinging sensation before, for a few days.
I can never figure out why, I swear every injection is different each week feel wise.
I Also let it get room temperature for about a half hour, makes a huge difference! 👍 Yes I understand your worries. Especially being it was a New box! I would call the Avonex hotline & ask s Pharmacist if that is something to worry about! 👍
I certainly will! It was a brand new box too so i was concerned with contamination......
