Are you having more lesions? I dont want to be receive a new med.l from ny neuro. It seems like from this group that there are many people on the team have more issues because of a med. What do you think?
An excellent question. I refuse to take steroids due to the side effects and I do take 40 Mg Copaxone. I began on Avonex and couldn't tolerate its side effects so I've been on Copaxone for about 17 years. My MS is stable and I don't want progression so I will stay on Copaxone until I hit my 60's when studies have shown that it's rare to have an exacerbation. Feel free to set me straight if this is not accurate. I recently read this in a medical journal.
Doing good. I've had MS for 21 years. Took tecfidera for 1 year but it killed WBC and i got off and regretted every day I took it. I've had about 6 scans in 21 yrs. I have lesions but dr says they are more surface vs. Deep. How many...50, 60. Looks like a lot. Not sure quantity matters tho. Its depth and location. I run, hike, ski, lift and mountain bike work and have two kids. I'm totally afraid of the meds making matters worse! Maybe I'm making a huge mistake but so far so good!
It has not even been 1 year since I was diagnosed been on same med Aubagio for 7 months now! Their are good days, but more bad days! Meds do more damage than help in my opinion! Once I get an MRI to verify if Meds are helping with the scarring I myself will make a decision if I want to continue on any meds!
For the First Six Months after My MS Dx. i DID Copaxone however at that point. I stopped taking them and it has been over 30 Years without MS Drug's. I do faithfully take My Vitamins and eat as Healthy as I can. My Mom also has MS and I have watched Her suffer from the side effects of the MS Drugs not to mention Her constant uti's that She has.
I think its a Crap-shoot. Since the progression of mine diseases slow we've decided that no medications need to be taken at this time. My neuro does not feel the benefits of putting me on ocrevus outweigh the negatives at this time. But if I were to progress much quicker than we would more than likely go down that route. But there's no reason to put my body through any more than it needs to on the chance, or slim chance that'll work
