ALL MS Specialists ARE Neurologists.

But NOT ALL Neurologists are MS Specialists.

I was diagnosed in July by a neurologist. He helped me immensely and was able to fix my eye sight. Last month, I switched to Baylor College of Medicine Multiple Sclerosis center. I was nervous about changing doctors. I’m glad I did though because I know I’m at the best place for my care. My new doctor ordered more MRI’s with better images. He called me last Friday - I have an active lesion on my brain and more lesions on my brain and spine since my last images were taken in June.

He also took me off a bunch of medicine that I was still on for my eyes. I’m on Aubagio for MS and I think we are going to change that when I see him this week.

I think for me I just feel better being at the MS Clinic. The whole journey has been confusing. I wish you the very best and sending you gentle hugs. What a crazy ride we are gonna on!

A neurologist will deal with anything associated with the central nervous system. I try to find a neurologist who either specializes in MS, or a neurologist who is familiar with MS and tries to stay current with research and medication for people with MS.
