I’m currently on LTD, but I was working and had the Disability Tax Credit since shortly after my diagnosis. It did take me awhile to apply for it because of my own refusal to accept that I had a qualifying disability
My doctor had the start of disability dated to my diagnosis date. I had struggled with physical issues before that
I had a family member who worked for an accountant help me to file amendments to my taxes which really helped.
My disability tax credit just expired last year, I'm trying to put together a letter of why i feel i need it for my doctor now. They have examples online of who qualifies and there is a section for accumulated conditions, thats what i got accepted for years ago and am going to try again. Have you looked up th t22o1 form to see if you qualify?
