I am on medicade disability and currently on Cobra. I understand that I will be eligible for Medicare Part A & B after 24 months. I was doing some research ahead of time and just saw a PDF from the North Carolina Department of Insurance and it states that it is against NC Law to by Medicare Part D for persons on disability under the age of 65.

Is there any other disability person under 65 out there? I am completely freaking out at the moment.

Well due to MS I had a miss spelling in my question. It should have said Medicare disability not Medicaid. So sorry to hear about your health issues. I hope you are doing well give what has been thrown at you.

I am on Gilenya and it is $106,000+ without Part D. It is not covered under Part B. I can’t afford that....

I was diagnosed with prostate cancer when I was 49 years old oh, four months later I was diagnosed with primary progressive MS. I had to leave my dialysis job and go on disability. I am now 58 years old and still on disability I have Medicare Parts A and B but my meds are still expensive. I hope this note helps you out and finds you having a good day today

I have had Medicare since 2011. Once my disability was approved, I had a one year waiting period for it. I was 48 at the time of approval. Please don’t freak out. It feels overwhelming initially but soon, this will pass and it will work out for you.
