I was told 2 months ago that the shingles vaccine is not a live vaccine by a Doctor in E.R. I have had shingles and never want the experience again. I will get a second opinion on the vaccine.

I had the live vaccine years ago before I started treatment. I didn't want to get shingles and I had to wait an extra week before I started treatment.

NO! MSer's are NOT to get the shingles vaccine as it is a live virus. MSer's are not to get live virus vaccines as we are more susceptible to contracting the disease via the vaccine.

@A MyMSTeam Member you should be able to get the vaccine at a grocery store pharmacy or at Walgreen's, etc. pharmacies for only about $10 (sometimes free!). Check those locations out.

I have had shingles numerous times throughout my life. It has always come back in the same area. Freaking miserable!!!! I was told by doctors to get the vaccine but my insurance refuses to cover the cost until a certain age.
(Fingers crossed I don’t get it again)
