Technology for body temperature regulation support is on the rise. Do you think this has strong potential to support MS symptomatic issues affiliated with heat waves in the Summer? There's an article with interesting information on the subject. I would like to know your thoughts. https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/2019/07/29/...

the reon pocket utilizes "thermoelectric cooling" Well, it uses what’s known as the Peltier Effect. Basically, electric currents are used to transfer heat between two objects, which ends up creating a temperature difference. Sony says you can also use it as a heater on winter days. it can supposedly cool a user’s body temperature by 13 degrees celsius (23 degrees fahrenheit) raise your temperature by about 8 degrees celsius (about 14 degrees fahrenheit)
Right now, you’ll control it with an app on your smartphone. It runs on battery for 90 minutes on one charge, and it takes 2 hours to recharge.
That's really interesting. I'd be willing to give it a try once it's comes to the U.S., provided the reviews are really good. :-)
@A MyMSTeam Member The "reon pocket" is a bluetooth device about the size of a card wallet that slips into a special undershirt with a pocket at the base of the neck. it connects to an app which gives users control of the temperature via their smartphone. You can see images of the device on the websites posted in the Q/A. The wearable is being crowdfunded through Sony's First Flight acceleration program in Japan, and prices will start around $117. It's not in the US yet.
Hi @A MyMSTeam Member. Thanks for adding me to your team. On exceptionally hot days, I utilize a cooling best (Stacool vest) which really helps in regulating my core temperature. It was a bit pricey, so I am happy to have procured it when I had a steady income. It's heavy and annoying to load, but worth it, plus the ice packs take up a lot of freezer space). If I'm only running out to the store, I'll just go with a cooling scarf that I wrap around my neck (not as good as the vest, but works nonetheless). If you have trouble with the heat as I do, I recommend getting something to help cool you down. If price is an obstacle for you, MSAA has a cooling vest program, that you ought to look into. Hope this helps you!
Wish I had one right now. It's so hot and humid in East Texas that I am planted in the house.
