Gabapentin:
I’ve been on it for almost two years. I was taking 1200mg 3x/day. I thought it wasn’t really doing anything so in consulting with my MS doc, we decided I should slowly taper off it. Oh ho ho! Big mistake! I’m like WAIT A MINUTE it WAS doing something, now that I’m on a lower dose I’m really in pain now!!! I have no side effects on it so now I’m just taking it and not asking questions. The pharmacist told me I will probably need a larger dose in the future. I currently take 600mg in AM and noon and 900mg at bedtime with an option to take another 600mg at dinner time if I so choose.
It still doesn’t take all the pain away but it keeps the pain tolerable and my sense of humor intact. Lol.

My mantra:

lol true - but since he prescribed it I have only used about 50 half pills- and my scripts have lasted for years. So over time I have proved myself a good guardian. (except when the nephew in law stole every script I had and left me with NOTHING. fun times.)
