For some reason it takes me a long time to put on a jacket or coat. I noticed I was having issues with this simple task a few years ago. I was at work trying to put in my jacket at which a fellow co-worker saw me struggling and reached out to help me put it on.

Members rallied around the question of struggling to put on jackets, with an overwhelming number sharing that this is a very common experience tied to MS, joint pain, and muscle weakness. Several members offered helpful strategies, including putting the weaker arm in first, sitting down while dressing, flipping the coat upside down to slip it on, and choosing soft pull-overs with snaps instead of buttons or zippers. A recurring theme was the emotional comfort of knowing you are not alone, along with encouragement to seek occupational or physical therapy to learn tips that make daily tasks more manageable.

First of all, sweetheart, don't consider anything you're going through as minor. If it's causing a problem for you, it's definitely important. Second of all, you can see how many of us go through the same thing, including me. For the last 6 months, I've been having trouble as well. I can get my right arm in, but I need help finding that left sleeve. Please don't be afraid to talk to us about any problems you're having. We're all here for you! Lisa πŸ’–πŸŽΈ

After years of "maintaining" for lack of a better term, as I'm going no where fast.
I keep researching knowing the answer for me getting out of this wheelchair may not be in time for me. But I recognize the ones that their journey is much different then my own and have the real opportunity to see some relief down the road.
That's why I write what I write about. God Bless Stay Strong.

Sometimes the simplest things are suddenly difficult. Putting on a jacket, putting on shoes. It's always something. MS is like a bully you can't kick in the crotch and run away from

That's just another example why sometimes we need to see a occupational physical therapist. To learn the little tricks that make life bearable, even possible.
