Twelve years.
Doc said if I have one flare up she'd wrip me off of it no questions.

PS.
I did Avonex at first. Hints for injecting that below.
Then, Betaseron.
Then Copaxone. Did well, tired of injecting all the time, Bad decision.
Since, on Aubagio. 👍

Just reread and see you are on Avonex. I'll just say that I had hardest times with tha injection until, I learned what worked for me to do it. So many Saud stab it, practice on an Orange. I tried and would say, F that as I tried. Then, I realized just tge skin hurt lije when a mosquito stings you so, I would gently take the needle and slowly start and prick the skin. Tgen, push it in, into the muscle. The muscle does not have nerves that hurt. That worked for me. The story bogles my nurses. I tell them, go stab yourself!

I took Aubagio for over a year. I had no side effects and no changes in my MRIs. My doctor had me stop it when I was 68, which was fine with me. I've been off it for over 2 years and still no changes in my MRIs and no problems stopping it.

There does come a time, or it did for me when interferons don’t work anymore. I did 15 years of Betaseron injections before it quit working. My doctor told me I will never be able to take any interferon again. That didn’t hurt my feelings at all.

I was in a clinical trial with Aubagio 14 mg. before it was approved by the FDA. That was 2011. I’ve been been on it ever since with no progression disease whatsoever.
