It took me a year to get a diagnosis. The doctors have to rule out basically everything else. The definitive test is a spinal puncture. Yes, you can do MRIs but the real answer is in your spinal fluid. I did that. No fear, first lesson you must learn. How I do that is through my faith in Jesus Christ. His word tells us to fear not. Blessings! Stay flat after spinal puncture at least until the next day, or youโll get a killer migraine.
It is hard at first. When I first found out about my MS it was scary. You are entering a new world. There is a lot to learn about the new you. Knowledge is power. This site will help you a lot!
Tonya, please accept a big hug, and suggestion: maybe ask questions of your neurologists, some knowledge of what the tests are, what happens, and explanations. Not knowing what is happening is quite scary ๐ ๐ถ
Hang in there some of these are rule out diseases. This means you have to get rid of what itโs not first.
Sadly it's the same for many autoimmune and other complex diseases-the health care system has you to go through so much until you get several or more symptoms for an extended period of time then have you texted for fibromyalgia, MS or something else complex.Stay determined and driven to get more testing done as well as finding or getting a neuroloigst-it will pay off. Please read my story and hopefully you'll get some motivation.
